Definition of work:
The Clerk Typist III is a highly accountable position with an integral role in the organization and smooth functioning of Lewisporte Community Health Centre. The successful candidate will provide clerical support, reception, communication and management of information flow. The Clerk Typist III also prepares and types committee/departmental reports and meeting minutes utilizing various communications, office equipment and software programs. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
? Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
? Completion of a two-year office administration course approved by Central Health.
? Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
? Completion of a 60-hour Medical Terminology course.
? Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a fast pace and changing environment.
? Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task duties of a complex clerical and technical nature.
? Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills.
? Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment, as well as, work with the general public and clients with tact and diplomacy.
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
? A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred qualifications:
? Knowledge in Microsoft, Corel, Excel and Power Point applications.
