Title: Supervisor - Health Equipment Loan Program

In this role, you will:

Oversees the day-to-day equipment reprocessing and distribution activities related to the delivery of health equipment loan services to achieve contracted deliverables and HELP program objectives.

Responsibility 1 - Operations, Service Delivery and Safety Standards 40%

• Ensures the implementation of policies, procedures and practice standards relating to equipment reprocessing, inventory management and distribution.

  • Oversees equipment distribution operations including but not limited to inventory and parts management, equipment reprocessing, customer and the client service site equipment delivery process.

• Provides expert technical advice to staff, volunteers, and health care professionals, pertaining to health equipment.

• Ensures technical staff and volunteers are familiar with and adhere to HELP policies and procedures.

• Monitors program delivery to ensure performance standards and quality control are maintained

• Procures PPE, chemicals, equipment, parts, and other supplies as needed.

• Conducts internal scheduled self-audits per provincial requirements .

• Performs corrective actions in response to internal audits.

• Ensures timely and appropriate responses to Safety Bulletins and Recall Advisories.

• Ensures timely reporting of incidents and product damage reports and follows up accordingly.

• Maintains solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibility 2 - Equipment Reprocessing 20%

• Participate in equipment cleaning , disinfection, inspection, repair, database, delivery, and installation as needed to meet operational requirements.

Responsibility 3 - Human Resources 20%

• Supervises staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance to policies, procedures, and equipment standards

• Recruits, trains, mentors, and supports all program technical staff and volunteers.

• Ensures staff and volunteers are in compliance with health & safety regulations/standards.

• Allocates resources to meet equipment reprocessing/delivery priorities.

• Addresses performance concerns and matters of professional conduct of direct reports with support from senior management.

Responsibility 4 - Contracted Programs Management 10%

• Collaborates with Partner Services on equipment related issues including equipment inventory needs, repairs etc.

• Ensures compliance with relevant contract terms related to equipment management, reporting, privacy regulations and program evaluation requirements.

Responsibility 5 - Facility Management 5%

• Ensures that all WHMIS Program requirements are adhered to for assigned sites.

• Identifies space needs, recommends, and implements solutions including renovating or relocating HELP sites.

• Conducts regular building inspections of assigned sites to ensure potential hazards are identified and addressed.

• Works closely with facilities staff to ensure completion of required facility maintenance and repairs for assigned sites.

Responsibility 6 - Fleet Management 5%

• Ensures that HELP fleet vehicles are maintained according to National fleet maintenance policies.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Integrates volunteer resources and fund development within the scope of responsibilities.

• Participates in disaster response as needed.

• Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment.

• Performs other duties as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, 3 years of job-related work experience, and 2 years' experience supervising employees and/or volunteers, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse population and an understanding of cultural issues.
  • Valid BC Driver's License. Mechanical, maintenance, assembly or repair experience.
  • Ability to be self-directed and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Medical equipment repair experience is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel around the region is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
