The Role: Chief Executive Officer
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will inspire, engage, and lead a dedicated team of professionals to elevate the standard of long-term care. You will provide operational, fiscal, and strategic leadership to guide the organization towards its vision of leadership within Nova Scotia's long-term care sector. Working closely with the Board, you will help to shape policies, programs, and strategies, ensuring that Villa Acadienne continues to advance its mission.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of over 100 staff who provide direct care and support services to 96 residents entrusted to your care. As the CEO/Administrator, you will foster respectful and effective relationships with community partners, funding agencies, and staff. Additionally, you will oversee administrative and human resource functions, quality improvement initiatives, and sound fiscal management in accordance with Nova Scotia's Homes for Special Care Act and Regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree, in nursing or other health care related disciplines, with five or more years of senior leadership experience. (A master's degree in nursing or other health care related disciplines is considered an asset). You are a strong strategic leader with demonstrated critical thinking skills. You are an excellent communicator and team builder, and you have strong business and financial acumen. You are knowledgeable in financial management processes and experienced in managing budgets. You have a strong understanding of human resource management and quality and risk management programs. Experience working with vulnerable populations in the not-for-profit sector is essential. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required for this position.
