Job Title: Outdoor Forklift Operator
Location: Milton, ON
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm or 3:30pm - 12:00am
Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 / hour (based on experience) + full benefits from day-1 of hire
Job Type: Permanent Hire
Our client in Milton is hiring experienced forklift operators for their lumber and building supply yard in Milton. Looking for candidates with high attention to detail and safety! You must be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Candidates must have their own vehicle to commute to the worksite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate 10,000lb capacity counterbalance forklifts indoors and outdoors throughout the lumber yard.
- Load/unload materials from flatbeds, trucks, and trailers and strap materials down.
- Pick, pack, replenish, and do inventory counts as required.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report back to Operations Manager .
- Using straps, fork extenders, and clamp attachments as needed.
- Completing general labour tasks often and lifting up to 50lbs .
- Using a RF Scanner, pick sheet, and radio throughout the shift.
- Other tasks as assigned around the warehouse and yard.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Valid Counterbalance forklift license (in-house or 3rd party).
- Long term (3-5 years) experience in forklift operator role required with preference given to candidates with experience working outdoors.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs throughout a shift.
- Safety and detail oriented with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to provide a Criminal Record Search.
