Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and complies with the Corporate Safety and Health Program.
  • Ensures that all procedures identified in the Environmental Management System are considered in the planning process.
  • Complies with the Corporate EMS Program and ISO 14001.
  • Estimates labour requirements for known maintenance activities and projects.
  • Develops detailed work packages which accurately reflect the personnel requirements, the scope of work, the required resources (tools and equipment), the maintenance windows and work durations as required.
  • Creates PMs with required resources assigned within JDE and generates as required.
  • Develops weekly work plan by department from annual work plan and current backlog.
  • Attends work plan meetings.
  • Provides cost and performance data to the Technical Supervisor - Maintenance and others as required.
  • Audits planned work against completed work.
  • Determines the crafts required and crew composition to perform the work.
  • Identifies material needs, quantities, descriptions, specifications and availability.
  • Identifies special tools or equipment needed.
  • Submits and follows up on outage requests as required.
  • Submits an annual list to ECC regarding outage work
  • Promotes the Planning and Scheduling process.
  • Develops standard job plans and standard craft time data in conjunction with assessors.
  • Applies standard time to work orders.
  • Schedules the work as per Bills of Material.
  • Aids in the development of the yearly work plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Incumbent shall work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policies & Procedures and strive to eliminate any potential risk which could result in personal injury or occupational illness.

Incumbent shall be familiar with the Environmental Policy and Guiding Principles and applicable environmental Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities.

What You'll Need:

  • Completion of High School supplemented by successful completion of a Technology or Inter-provincial Journeyperson certificate.
  • Minimum of five years related experience.
  • Safety oriented.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adhere to the Nalcor's vision and core values.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate with other team members.
  • Must possess project management skills combined with sound judgment and decision making skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a key member of the Project Delivery Team within a multi-functional team environment (matrix style organization structure).
  • Proven interpersonal, communications, leadership and team skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with demonstrated sound judgment and decision making skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to plan work well, and to be well-organized.
  • Solution oriented and demonstrated creative thinking.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative/supportive manner with stakeholders.
  • This position is not rotational and is expected to live in area
