Retail Supervisor
Are you passionate about agriculture and skilled at leading a team in a customer-focused retail environment? We are currently looking for a full time Retail Supervisor to help us serve the local farming community and contribute to our store's ongoing success. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will play a key role in supervising front store staff, overseeing merchandising, and supporting sales initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a hands-on retail setting, and has a genuine interest in agriculture and rural life.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise, coach, and motivate retail associates to deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure the merchandising, cleanliness, and overall appearance of the store.
- Oversee merchandising plans so staff can efficiently stock and display products.
- Set up contract pricing for flyers and promotions.
- Maintain an inviting, safe, and organized retail environment, including outside the store and roadside signage.
- Suggest product orders for assigned sections while following purchasing policies.
- Monitor inventory control, track items with low turnover, and report discrepancies.
- Review weekly margin reports and identify any issues.
- Support sales strategies and implement promotions to increase revenue and customer engagement.
- Plan and execute special events, coordinating groups of employees to assist.
- Oversee opening and closing duties.
- Assist with farm desk duties during the busy Spring season, as schedule permits.
- Serve as a contact for after-hours security system issues.
- Perform other duties as required.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Previous retail experience, ideally with agricultural products.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills.
Certifications & Licenses (will train):
- Valid Driver's License preferred.
- Pesticide Vendor's License.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- WHMIS.
- Forklift Certification.
- First Aid & CPR.
