Key Responsibilities:

In this position you will receive general direction and technical guidance from the Planning/Scheduling Supervisor but are expected to exercise a considerable amount of judgment and personal initiative in the performance of day to day activities. You will also work closely with the Supervisors, Long Term Asset Planning, Engineering Services and Managers to prepare all work. For all scheduled work, you will ensure the availability of: labor, material, special permits, special tools & equipment, and outage confirmations (if required).

Specific duties of the position will include:
• Estimates labor requirements for known maintenance activities and projects.
• In conjunction with the Scheduler develops weekly work plan for the department from the Annual Work Plan and current backlog.
• Identifies material needs, quantities, descriptions, specifications and availability.
• Identifies special tools or equipment needed.
• Promotes the Planning and Scheduling process.
• Develops standard job plans and standard craft time data in conjunction with assessors.
• Assists in the development of the annual work plan.
• Other duties as assigned.

You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
What We're Looking For:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of the finance team;
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities.

What You'll Need:

You have graduated high school and have successfully completed a Technology program or have an inter-provincial Journeyperson certificate, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an Electrical Utility environment. Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling would be an asset, as well as proficiency in the use and capabilities of a computerized maintenance management system. Applicants should be a team player, with excellent communication skills and preferably with specific experience in JD Edwards, the Microsoft Suite of Applications, and Primavera. Other combinations of qualifications and related experience may be considered.
