Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at PHP, you will be responsible for the efficient management of all mechanical maintenance activities at our paper manufacturing facility. Providing leadership and supervision to the Trades, the Mechanical Supervisor adheres to and promotes safe work practices and ensures efficient execution of preventive maintenance activities, corrective work and maintenance shutdowns. This role involves interfacing with planning, operations, engineering, purchasing, and other support groups as well as networking with suppliers, consultants and others as required.

Experience/Education Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical certification coupled with a minimum of five (5) years' supervision experience in a heavy industrial environment. Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification will be considered an asset.

Skills/Competency Requirements:

• Able to promote a safe work culture and leverage experience to drive H&S performance
• Knowledgeable in planning and scheduling, predictive and preventive maintenance
• Supervision experience in a unionized environment
• Team leadership skills. Able to form a strong, motivated team. Previous leadership training considered an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, strong and methodical problem-solving skills
• Solid decision-making skills
• Ambitious, motivated and determined - driven to exceed targets and expectations
• Solid computer skills
• Initiative to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
