Reports To: Plant Manager (or designate)

Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees daily plant operations and production staff to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. This role provides leadership, coaching, and direction to team members while ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and operational standards. The Production Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, inventory oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives that support plant uptime and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to operational/production staff.
  • Manage employee relations and ensure adherence to quality guidelines and practices.
  • Determine maintenance priorities and oversee inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines and promote health & safety policies.
  • Drive plant uptime initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in industrial operations, food processing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, inventory systems, and basic computer applications.

Working Conditions

  • Plant-based environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and production equipment.
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
  • Use of PPE and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols is mandatory.
