Founded in 2007, Technical Rope & Rescue Inc. is a Newfoundland-based company dedicated to supporting safe progress in challenging work environments such as at height, in confined spaces, and in remote locations. Our services include specialized training, advisory & consulting, rope access, equipment sales, inspections & rentals, and emergency response.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative & Operations Assistant to support our daily operations and help expand our capacity. This is a dynamic "front of house" role that blends administration, coordination, and operational support. The right candidate will be highly organized, personable, and eager to learn and grow within our team.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, takes initiative, and thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Front Office & Administration

Answer and direct incoming calls and greet visitors.

Receive packages, file customer orders and ensure timely distribution.

Maintain a professional and welcoming office environment, always "show ready."

General administrative support across all departments.

Assist with accounts payable, payroll, and other financial tasks under the guidance of the Business Manager.

Collect payments for equipment services and ensure accurate documentation

Training Support

Prepare classroom area and training materials (digital and print).

Ensure equipment (Chromebooks, supplies, etc.) is charged, sanitized, and ready for use.

Stock/Set up refreshments and ensure students have a positive experience.

Equipment Handling

Receive and process customer equipment for inspections following internal quality system procedures.

Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Manage equipment rentals and returns with guidance from the Equipment/Quality Lead.

Services & Logistics

Assist with booking accommodations, flights, and car rentals for field staff.

Prepare paperwork, supplies, and other materials to support field operations.

Accurately document and file records in accordance with company processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, or equivalent experience.

Proficient with Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience working with ISO quality management systems is considered an asset.

Previous experience collaborating with senior management is preferred.

Digital marketing or social media management experience is an asset.

Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.

Experience in industrial safety, rope access, or emergency response is an asset.

Experience working with Simply Accounting is considered an asset.
