JOB SUMMARY :

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Health Reserch Institute, with a functional reporting affiliated to de Department of Health Research and Evaluation of the Vitalité Health Network, the Manager performs the planning, organization, management and control functions for all administrative, logistical and organizational processes supporting the development of activities related to the Dr. Georges?L.?Dumont UHC Biobank of Vitalité Health Network. The Manager reports to the President and Chief Executive Officher (CEO) of the health research institution, while maintaining functional realtionship with the Regional Director of Research and Health Evaluation. The Manager support the Director in their management duties, both within the Network's with affiliated and external partners. Jointly with the scientific head and the principal investigators of the Biobank, the manager participates in the development of policies and procedures for Biobank operations in accordance with national and international laws, regulations and standards of practice, as well as Vitalité Health Network policies and procedures.

The Manager will assist the Director position the sector as a key organizational player, to support transformations related to the strategic plan. The manager will be able to participate in the development and implementation of the sector's operating plan and will represent management in some forums and meetings. The manager will also be responsible for managing the staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Biobank. The manager must be very familiar with and understand the hospital environment and postsecondary education institutions and will be responsible for leading large-scale initiatives with the Network's key research partners.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate degree in a field related to the position (science, health, management or another related field);
  • Minimum of five years' accumulated experience in a position involving increasing responsibilities in the university, hospital or private sector;
  • Experience in human resource, material, and financial management;
  • Five to ten years' experience in the health research field within a university setting, research institution or hospital setting;
  • Very good knowledge of the health care sector, its administration and its partners;
  • Management skills including planning, decision-making, and human resource and material management;
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, teamwork and change management skills;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven skills in managing human, physical, material and financial resources;
  • Good judgment and initiative;
  • Skilled at delegating tasks and responsibility;
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks;
  • In-depth understanding of the scientific method and research;
  • Good understanding of research and major challenges associated with health care systems;
  • Expertise in scientific writing and review;
  • Experience with different analytical methods;
  • Critical thinking skills, attention to detail and scientific rigour;
  • Ability to work by results-oriented objectives;
  • Motivating leadership and ability to inspire buy-in and commitment;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to innovate;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
