Noseworthy Chapman Chartered Professional Accountants are seeking candidates for the permanent, full-time position of Staff Accountant with the Accounting Services Group (ASG) in St. John's, NL. As a member of the ASG, you will be part of a team that provides monthly contract accounting services to clients and offers flexible, cost-effective financial management solutions to a variety of clients that do not employ a full-time accountant.
What You'll Do:
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, including sales and purchases.
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Administer payroll, including cheques, vacation pay, Records of Employment and tax remittances).
- Prepare and file HST and HAPSET returns.
- Complete annual filings, including T4s and Workplace NL reports.
- Compile financial statements and other reports for clients.
- Provide other ad hoc accounting support as required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting considered an asset, however, candidates with equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks and/or Xero accounting systems, and Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm towards work.
