The Opportunity
This is a training position in the continuous operations of the electrical system. As a valued member of the System Control team, you will:
- learn to monitor, regulate and control equipment associated with the Company's electrical grid through our SCADA system;
- receive customer trouble calls;
- dispatch trouble crews;
- direct switching for isolation and restoration of system components;
- log system data and interruptions;
- perform other related duties.
Your qualifications include:
- Three-year Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from an institution recognized by AETTNL.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and customer service;
- Strong interest in, and an aptitude for work with a high level of computer skills along with strong troubleshooting skills;
- Willing to complete the three-year Power System Operator Training Program.
There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40km of the Topsail Road office.
Compensation is as per the current Collective Agreement.
