Position: Temporary Full-Time Security Guard

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Payrate: $ 21.00/hour

Hours: Afternoon/Night 3 week Rotation

Assignments include

  • Familiarity with site standard operating procedures with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Know the site safety and emergency procedures and ensure they are followed and documented accurately
  • Complete security incident reports with a report writing database focused on the 5 W's, accuracy and database integrity
  • Liaise with visitors, customers and the public in a concierge focused security setting at reception desk posts
  • Operate the Security Operations Centre (SOC) where you will monitor multiple properties, perform access control, credential creation and use the systems provided in a proactive manner to solve problems while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through collaboration with employees, visitors, customers and the security team
  • Monitor email communications and respond in a clear manner with the utmost professionalism

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
  • Valid First Aid & CPR level C certificate with willingness to obtain Advanced First Aid through recognized providers
  • Certification in Use of Force / Defensive Tactics (e.g., PPCT, MOAB, or equivalent)
  • Excellent command of English for client communication, report writing, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Must pass a background check
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with communication and access control platforms

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift)
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladder
  • Requires frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise and legible reports
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
  • Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personnel, building and equipment security
  • Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required
  • Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to an emergency situation involving violent individuals and injuries
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
