JOB SOMMARY :

In collaboration with the healthcare team, the Primary Care Paramedic provides patient care while respecting their scope of practice. The Paramedic must continuously monitor the patients' health condition. They must anticipate potential complications and be able to respond quickly in emergency situations. The Paramedic accepts responsibility for maintaining and continually improving their skills through ongoing professional development, including participation in training sessions and research. They make a significant contribution to the healthcare system through their work in direct care, education, administration, research, and policy development within their work environment, while adhering to the mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies of the Vitalite Health Network.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • High school graduation plus an additional Primary Care Paramedic program/course of over six months and up to one year or equivalent;
  • Registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick is required;
  • BLS (basic life support) certification and maintenance of this certification;
  • Successful completion of certification programs specific to the unit within set time frames;
  • Proven ability to organize and manage assigned workload;
  • Proven skills in communication and interpersonal relations with the care team;
  • Ability to function in a changing work environment;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
