NOTICE OF CONTRACT POSITION (3 YRS): PROGRAM MANAGER, CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada is recruiting for a full time (35 hours per week), contract position of Program Manager, Co-operative Housing Development Program for a period of 3 years starting as soon as possible. The position may be located at any CHF Canada Office (Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Truro) on a hybrid basis (with possible consideration for remote options).
The mission of the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) is to inspire, represent and serve our members in a united co-operative housing movement. There is significant unmet demand for affordable and co-operative housing, and we want more people to experience the security, vibrancy and resiliency of co-operative living. We work with federal, provincial/territorial and municipal governments to support existing co-ops, and to develop more co-op housing, so we can continue to lead the way in creating inclusive, accessible, diverse and sustainable communities. Under the direction of the Manager, Co-operative Housing Development, the Program Manager, Co-operative Housing Development Program delivers a program of support to member co-operatives across the country to support growth. This includes a program that supports the creation of new co-operative housing across the country including co-op expansions, redevelopment, mergers, acquisitions, co-op conversion and new creative models for growth.
The Program Manager works as part of a team pursuing growth with a focus on feasibility of projects, predevelopment, and funding application readiness for the Co-operative Housing Development Program (CHDP).
The Program Manager proactively engages co-operatives and other organizations to generate leads for the CHDP. The Program Manager will proactively engage partners to increase opportunities for the development of successful applications to the CHDP for Indigenous housing, student housing and housing in Quebec. The Program Manager will provide direct support to co-operatives in developing quality applications to CHDP.
The Program Manager will develop resource materials and conduct training sessions, education events, webinars and information sessions for staff and volunteers of housing co-operatives, federations and staff associations on topics related to new co-operative housing development and the CHDP.

What we're looking for:
- A University degree or professional experience, in a related field such as Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification is an asset.
- Five years' residential real estate development experience. Demonstrated experience with full development lifecycle, including end-to-end project delivery.
- Knowledge of the Office 365 suite of applications, including excellent knowledge of MS Excel and financial modelling.
- Working knowledge of graphic design tools, including: Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Working knowledge of other software applications and productivity tools an asset, including: SalesForce, Adobe, Slack, Asana, Trello.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage the demands of multiple long-term projects simultaneously. Prioritization skills are essential.
- Experience working with non-profit boards and familiarity with housing co-operatives and their supporting agencies is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including delivery of complex concepts to audiences with a wide diversity of knowledge, skills and experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
