The Avalon Arena Association operates the Capital Mitsubishi Centre and Capital Subaru Arena, two key community facilities that provide ice time for minor hockey, figure skating, recreational programs, and special events. Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and responsible Rink Attendant to join our team. Minimum of 20 Hours Per Week. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality ice conditions and smooth facility operations. The successful candidate will be trained in ice resurfacing and responsible for both Zamboni operation and general arena maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate the Zamboni to maintain high-quality ice surfaces.
• Perform routine ice maintenance, including edging and snow removal.
• Maintain cleanliness of dressing rooms, washrooms, stands, and all other areas within the facility.
• Monitor facility use and ensure compliance with arena rules.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
• Provide courteous customer service to patrons and user groups.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks in a cold environment.
• Experience operating a Zamboni (or willingness to train) required.
• First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset.
• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check to be submitted upon hire.
