Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Health Application Services Branch supporting various Government Departments as a Programmer Analyst on the Digital Health Solutions Team.

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Digital Health Solutions Team, you will be responsible for application support and maintenance activities, resolution of incidents and fulfillment of requests for the Regional Health Authorities and corporate initiatives. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing day to day development of Applications, ETL processes, data models, reporting, maintenance and support functions
  • Planning and overseeing the day to day activities of a small team of peers, particularly programmer analysts
  • Providing technical expertise and mentoring in all aspects of application development/report writing, maintenance and support, including standards and processes for deliverables.
  • Ensuring application design/development, maintenance and support activities adhere to policies, standards, processes and procedures
  • Working closely with Application Leads and business owners to effectively prioritize and schedule activities
  • Developing and managing the implementation of technical solutions in an operational environment.
  • Planning technology upgrades and managing maintenance releases.
  • Working with the appropriate teams within SNB to ensure that the technical, database and desktop architectures are being supported and leveraged
  • Working with Application Leads and clients to define and document business processes, current and future state, as well as conducting gaps analysis between requirements and solution deliverables
  • Working with business analysts, technical teams and business units to review business needs, recommend and develop solutions to address their requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships for collaboration with key stakeholders, project teams and other SNB teams
  • Contributing to defining, documenting and improving on issue, change, and risk management processes
  • Multi-tasking in a fast pace environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines

What do you need to be successful?

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Computer Science and a minimum of four (4) years of progressive IT industry experience with the primary focus on developing reporting solutions or web applications. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience with development tools, programming languages, and libraries/frameworks, such as .NET framework, .NET CORE, Web Forms, MVC, Web Services, JavaScript, JQuery, etc.
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SQL queries, triggers, packages, stored procedures etc.
  • Experience with management tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS
  • Experience with cloud based application (SaaS or PasS) like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP etc..

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary: $57, 616 - $80, 574 annually - Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
