WHO WE ARE:
The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour wishes to establish an inventory of qualified candidates to fill current and future vacancies of Employment Counsellor positions throughout the Province of New Brunswick. Applicants must note on their applications the location(s) for which they wish to be considered (Fredericton, Woodstock, Moncton, Saint John, Grand Falls, Edmundston, Campbellton, Bathurst, Miramichi, Caraquet, Tracadie, Shippagan).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a member of the counselling team, the successful candidate will be responsible for determining and addressing clients' employment and training needs through existing employment programs and services. This will include client assessment and provision of employment counselling (Career Counselling, Job Search, Job Maintenance and Skill Development), determining client eligibility, developing action plans and ensuring follow-up, facilitating group presentations and training sessions and recording all relevant client information and action plan outcomes and results into a computerized system. Other duties will include providing information on available programs and services, referral to appropriate services and liaising with service providers.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree with major studies in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Family Studies, Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences and have one (1) year experience in counselling. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

The following operational requirement is also required: A valid driver's license as the position requires travel.

Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) reference check.

Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:
From $2,774 to $3,402 bi-weekly.
