We are currently looking for 2 Operations Managers, MIH to join our Management team at Medavie Health Services West (MHSW), the Operations Manager, Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Program is responsible for day-to-day delivery and implementation of mobile integrated health programs in collaboration with the Senior Operations Manager, providing leadership and direction for projects and initiatives for the advancement of client/patient centered initiatives throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta.

The role consistently communicates Medavie Health Services group of companies' values, philosophies and best practices throughout all operating companies so that there is shared realization of the organization's goals. To ensure consistent business practices, the incumbent will work closely with the leadership team to effectively and efficiently manage workflow processes.

Responsible for planning and managing the successful execution of a Community Paramedicine Program.

  • Responsible for acting as the departmental lead on special projects as defined by the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Works as a member of the leadership team in MIH, including assisting in providing coverage in the rover/Deputy Superintendent role at times within all MIH portfolios.
  • Provides oversight of scheduling within MIH.
  • Assists, develops, and maintains organizational work standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and/or assist in the creation and implementation of new initiatives and activities and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Assist with the maintenance of data analysis and provide reporting as needed to the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Willingness to travel to other MIH program areas to provide direct oversight.

Communications with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise with stakeholders and partnering agencies of mobile integrated health programs.

MIH Paramedic Management

  • Provides direct oversight and coordination for the MIH practitioners including daily operations, patient care, continuing education and quality improvement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for applicants into the MIH program; assists with the development of the orientation process for new staff and provides direct oversight and mentorship throughout their probationary period.
  • Assists coaching and development opportunities for MIH practitioners and assists with any investigation or disciplinary matters within MIH.

Qualifications

Education

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in the Health Sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
  • Advanced Care Paramedic diploma.

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience, including minimum of three (1-3) years' experience in a leadership or supervisory/management role.

Certifications

  • Advanced Certificate of Community Paramedic required with an endorsement through the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics
  • Must be currently registered Licensed with the provincial regulatory body for paramedicine and in good standing.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of practices and procedures related to the delivery of Paramedicine, Provincial Health Care, Legislation, Personal Health Information & Protection Act and associated Regulations and Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related legislation.
  • Familiarity with research practices, and knowledge of and demonstrated use of evidence-informed decision-making processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills include ability to work as part of team.
  • Demonstrates a proactive commitment to professional/personal development through relevant certifications, training and courses to enhance skills and stay current with industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in the operation of various computer software applications, including presentation software, spreadsheet development, manipulation and word processing applications.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and formal knowledge of other business functions as necessary.
  • Always conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of the leadership team.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, advise and build trust with various stakeholders.

Environment involves indoor and outdoor work in possible extreme weather. Strenuous physical movements spent standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting. Prolonged noises from sirens. May be exposed to patients with communicable diseases. Irregular working schedules, shift work, standby and extended overtime as needed. May encounter violent patients. Works without immediate supervision. Exercises high degree of discretion and independent judgement. Regular business hours required with some irregular hours to be expected. Also note that higher call-volume areas may involve management of 24/7 rotation schedules and on-call work. The incumbent may be needed to fill in for sickness, vacation etc. Travel may be required.

The employee will spend various periods of sitting, standing, walking, crouching, lifting, and / or carrying light objects. Required to maintain one position for possible long periods of time, such as sitting at meetings, or at a desk setting. Employee will be reading data or inputting data, report writing, operating a word processor, computer, calculator, and talking on the telephone. Use and exposure to general office equipment such as fax, photocopier, printer, and personal computer.
