The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and caring Hairdresser to join our Beauty Shop team. In this role, you will provide salon services-including shampoos, cuts, colors, perms, sets, and barbering-to residents of Grand View Manor, as well as Orchard View and Fundy Villa tenants. This is more than a salon job-it's an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of seniors.

What You'll Do

• Provide professional hairdressing services to residents and tenants
• Schedule and manage resident appointments in coordination with care staff
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff regarding preferences and needs
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention standards in the Beauty Shop
• Keep accurate service logs for billing purposes
• Monitor and order supplies as needed
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for all clients

What You Bring

• Valid General Hairdressing Certificate
• Must hold a valid license with the Nova Scotia Cosmetology Association
• Experience working with seniors (including those with Alzheimer's or related dementias) an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, patience, and respect for residents and families
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and problem-solving skills
