Position: Part Time Security Guard - Parking

Hours: Monday – Friday with one Saturday per month

Payrate: $22.00/hour

Key responsibilities:
- Understand the Civic Centre Parking Policies as well as City By-Laws and Ontario Highway Traffic Act and how they correlate with each other
- Patrol parking lots by foot, or motor vehicle to identify violations to the policies and issue parking fees where required
- Daily inspection of Pay and Display Machines. Clear coin jams, paper jams, and replace paper as required. Preform basic troubleshooting steps and report issues to Parking Coordinator
- Daily inspection of Parking Lot Gates. Preform basic troubleshooting steps and report issues to Parking Coordinator
- Respond to, and assist customers with the use of Pay and Display Machines and Gates
- Identify vehicles to be immobilized, relocated, or removed from Civic Centre property
- Install or remove immobilization device to/from vehicles
- Parking lot vehicle counts
- Traffic Control for special events, emergencies, or bus loop as required
- Assist with emergency procedures where required
- Identify parking lot and traffic control signs and lines that may be missing or needing replacement and report to Parking Coordinator
- Assist with Cash Collection from Pay and Display Machines
- Work in an outdoor environment in all types of weather including heat, rain, snow and cold
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Valid G Class Ontario Driver's License & Clean Drivers Abstract – Driving required
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
