Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Manager of Revenue Metering to oversee the strategic direction and accreditation of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro's (Hydro) Meter Shop. Hydro is the only Measurement Canada accredited revenue metering utility in the province as per the Electrical Gas and Inspection Act. To maintain accreditation, Hydro has developed a Quality Management System (QMS) to govern quality-related activities related to certifying revenue meters for itself and third parties. In addition, the Meter Shop is responsible for lifecycle management of its own meters for approximately 35,000 residential customers as well as commercial and industrial customers.
As the Manager of Revenue Metering, you will be the final authority on quality matters, as outlined in the QMS, for revenue metering. You will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain all quality management policies and procedures related to revenue metering as specified in Hydro's QMS for revenue metering.
- Liaise with Measurement Canada on all matters relating to accreditation of Hydro as an accredited Meter Shop and Meter Service Organization.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to Measurement Canada.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to the certification, handling, and installation of meters and metering technology.
- Direct others on issues related to the quality requirements for revenue metering.
- Ensure Hydro's metering standards, technology, and processes stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes
You will also:
- Provide leadership and have broad management responsibility for all activities related to the Meter Shop.
- Provide strategic direction to Meter Shop personnel.
- Develop long term asset plans for Meter Shop assets and ensure adequacy of critical spares.
- Provide engineering technical support for the development and maintenance of revenue and statistical metering standards and designs.
- Participate in Meter Shop operational budgeting and forecasting.
- In conjunction with the Revenue Metering Supervisor, develop performance and quality metrics for Meter Shop operations and seek continual improvement.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Manager, Protection, Control, and Communications Engineering.
What We're Looking For:
- Effective communication, team, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Someone who takes ownership of their work to drive positive changes in terms of technical and operational processes.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree - Electrical; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Eligibility for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience, preferably with an electric utility or similar environment.
- Experience in the design of terminal station metering installations would be an asset.
- Experience and/or training specific to quality management systems would be an asset.
