What you will do
Reporting to the Anesthesiology Department Head and the Medical Director for the area, the Anesthesiologist collaborates with other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered, Nurses, and other Allied Medical Staff to provide:
- Anesthesiology services in the operating room as required.
- Ambulatory care in a clinic setting.
- Inpatient care including rounds on patients.
- Consultations to hospital-based patients as requested by attending staff.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as defined by your department.
- Participate in the use of departmental and corporate evidence-based rules of practice to ensure that expected standards of care are achieved.
- Maintain all patient records in the office and the hospital current and in accordance with the Horizon Health Network bylaws, medical staff rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority's mission, values, and strategic directions.
- Other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Department of Anesthesiology.
Who you are
- A medical degree is required.
- Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology
- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Candidates must be eligible for an academic appointment from Dalhousie University.
- Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
- In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada.
