Horizon Health Network is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our collegial and collaborative team in beautiful Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Reporting to the Department Head of Psychiatry, the Geriatric Psychiatry Specialist will play a central role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex mental health conditions in older adults. This position offers a dynamic and meaningful opportunity for a clinician dedicated to enhancing outcomes for seniors through evidence?based practice, innovation, and compassionate care. Incentives & Remuneration
The salary range is $305,091.15 – $370,295.10, plus fee-for-service billing opportunities, paid time off (including vacation and education leave), health and travel insurance benefits, sick benefits, and employer-paid contributions to our pension plan.
Successful applicants may be eligible to receive the following:
- Urban recruitment incentive of $50,000.00 with a 2-year return of service.
- Moving expense reimbursement is also available.
What you will do
Our ideal candidate will collaborate with other Physicians, Nursing and other Allied medical staff in the following areas:
- Geriatric psychiatry inpatient and outpatient care
- Close collaboration with our outstanding Medicine colleagues including consultations to in-patient units
- ECT Service
All members of our department are expected to provide:
- After-hours and weekend on-call coverage (paid stipend and fee-for-service billing)
- ECT Service
- Clinical supervision of medical students and residents
(Note: These responsibilities are the basic and prime duties associated with this position; other related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of Horizon Health Network.)
Who you are
- You have a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of Geriatric Psychiatry.
- You have experience in collaborative multidisciplinary Addiction and Mental Health care.
- You have Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a valid license through New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) and become a member of the NB Medical Society.

The physician must also meet continuing education requirements, adhere to departmental and health authority policies, comply with relevant legislation, and follow professional ethical standards set by regulatory bodies.
