Position Philosophy
Under the direction or supervision of the Director of Nutrition and Support Services and Food Service Manager the Kitchen Helper is responsible for creating a human habitat and providing care and services to meet the needs of the elders in the cottages. The Kitchen Helper works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in our community.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Nutrition and Support Services and Food Service Manager, the Kitchen Helper aids in production of all meals and snacks for the dining rooms using production sheets and standardized recipes. Responsible for aiding in prep work for the next day's menu.
Responsibilities:
Helps prepare meals for residents and special events. Prepping vegetables, fruits etc.
Cleans food production equipment, kitchen floors and dishes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate in English language
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Previous experience in a Residential Care Facility and/or volume Food Preparation environment in the Health Care or Hospitality Industry.
