Job SummaryThe Clerk III for Rehabilitation Day Services works independently and confidentially on a variety of assigned administrative and research tasks. Provides confidential administrative support to the Divisional Managers of the Adult Rehabilitation, Palliative Care and Geriatrics Program, Dr. L.A. Miller Centre; the Regional Program Director and Clinical Chief when required; confidential patient trust services to the inpatients of the Rehabilitation Program; confidential administrative support to the Resident Site Manager of the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, including organizing and finalizing year-round commemorative and special events; and confidential resident trust services to 56 residents and all the financial matters and responsibilities of the Resident Trust office,
The Clerk III maintains patient/office records, types/transcribes letters, reports, forms, memos, etc., operates and maintains a variety of computerized statistical databases to record or input data. Answers, screens and directs telephone calls to the appropriate staff; responds to telephone, email, and written inquiries as appropriate. Prepares and/or processes various types of forms including claims, invoices, purchase orders, including the administrative responsibility of the department P-card, cheques, and travel requests. Completes all payroll functions including invoice preparation, payroll data entry, changes to schedules/records. Arranges room bookings for meetings, composes and types agendas, takes and transcribes minutes. Maintains electronic and paper filing systems. Maintains and orders adequate clinic/department equipment and supplies Performs other related duties as required.

Constantly performs fine finger/precision work while sitting and using a computer mouse, scheduling appointments, and other duties.
Work provides the opportunity to stand and walk and to take postural breaks (sit, stand or walk) within the office environment.
Regularly required to perform bilateral repetitive fine motor skills when performing various computer work duties that involve typing and use of the computer's mouse.
Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
Experience working in a clinical research environment is an asset.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
** If medical terminology isn't current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the Human Resources Client Services Department.
