Halifax Water is seeking an Office Assistant II to join the Engineering & Capital Infrastrucutre Department. Responsibilities

The Office Assistant II is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Capital Project Delivery and Strategic Projects departments and ensuring smooth day-to-day administrative operations by liaising and collaborating with other departments, processing payment claims and change orders for contractors and consultants; undertaking utility reviews, reconciliation reports and correspondences; and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records and project files. This position involves being the department point of contact for various inquiries and reports, and providing data entry and support for HW applications associated with project delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Grade 12 plus a Business or Secretarial Certificate from a recognized educational institution.
  • Other suitable equivalent combinations of directly related formal education and experience may be considered.
  • Three years related secretarial experience.

As an ideal candidate, you have a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism and are able to work independently within minimal supervision, while consistently carrying out the directions of the Manager. You also have demonstrated your ability to maintain complete and accurate records along with maintaining continuity of your normal workflow despite interruptions.
