Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the AVP, Program Innovation & Strategic Initiatives, the Director, Executive and Professional Development (EPD) will:
Provide transformational leadership and professional management of the academic, administrative, programmatic, fiscal and strategic operations of the EPD
Supervises full-time and part time staff
Play a pivotal role in developing the EPD into an agile, dynamic, and self-sustaining enterprise that can cater to the changing education and professional development needs of executives and career-focused life learners in the Atlantic region and beyond (nationally and internationally)
Consult with both private and public sector employers, professional associations and internal stakeholders regarding assessment, development, design and delivery of professional development programs
Develop, implement and evaluate a marketing and promotional strategy consistent with the Division's Marketing strategy
Oversee and monitor budget submissions, variances and monitor program revenues
Supervise full and part-time employees and student assistants as required
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Continuous Improvement Specialist you will have:
- Master's Degree in educational leadership, adult education, business administration
- Minimum eight (8) years' experience of directly related experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a particular focus on building and leading organizations in a fluid and dynamic environment
- A strong record of participation in professional activities, public presentations, and/or published writing indicating leadership in the areas of executive education and other areas of higher education
- Extensive and successful administrative experience in higher education or organization development with an emphasis on life-long learning, executive education and professional development
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of the University and in an environment of shared governance
- Demonstrated ability in budgetary and financial affairs
- Experience and skills in entrepreneurship, business development, and non-credit education will be considered an asset
