Position: Part Time (Temp) Holding Area Dispatch
Site: Toronto Pearson Airport
Hours: Saturday and Sundays (1500 - 2300)
Payrate: $19.30 / an hour
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities:
Working on assigned shifts, Commercial Vehicle Holding Area Dispatcher will oversee the dispatch operation of all licensed and reputable drivers to the terminals. They will also be responsible for the day to day organization of department assets, manpower and monitor GTAA applications. The safety and security of all Airport occupants is paramount to Paladin Security's success. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Manage and administer the overall dispatch and organization of GTAA licensed vehicles (Taxicabs/Limousines) to the terminals.
• Address driver enquiries regarding the Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) such as but not limited to; short trips, que order, time outs, violations, issues/ concerns… etc.)
• Manage, operate and monitor the GTAA navigation system "AVI" and "Fidsmon"
• Maintain an orderly flow of commercial vehicles in most expeditious and efficient manner as per the passenger demand
• Monitor CCTV systems and adhere to changing customer volumes/ levels at each terminal.
• Administer peak period vehicle and irregular and emergency vehicle supplementation and dispatching. Consult with transportation brokers, frontline staff and GTAA.
• Monitor radio communications ensuring multi-terminal service harmonization.
• Assist Operations Manager & Terminal Supervisors in the oversight to curb and groundside operations and provide appropriate guidance and direction
• Act as the main point of contact for on-duty Paladin Guards working within the terminals.
• Manage the booking on and off of all Guards working at Toronto Pearson. Consult with Paladin Operations on any scheduling concerns.
• Perform administration duties as required such as end of day, weekly and monthly reports.
• Maintain communications at all times with fellow Security Guards, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
• Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client; GTAA.
• Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Maintain the highest standard of security at all times, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
• Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws.
• Represent Paladin Security, The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB Certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
