Applications are invited for a probationary, tenure-track position in Political Theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2026. Applicants should hold a completed or nearly completed PhD in Political Science or cognate fields. (If ABD, applicants must provide clear documentation that the degree will be completed before the appointment begins along with teaching experience in the field.) Preferred candidates will have a demonstrable commitment to the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion as they pertain to service, teaching, and research.

Our dynamic department is currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion, innovation, and renewal in the wake of the merger of the Departments of Political Science and Global Development Studies. We seek highly qualified applicants who wish to collaborate in this process and who can enrich the Political Science program with rigorous, cutting-edge research and teaching excellence in the field of Political Theory. The area of research specialization is open, but the successful candidate will demonstrate a viable and innovative research program and the capacity to teach our core Political Theory course "History of Political Thought" (POLI 2335) as well as other existing critical theory courses.
