The Supervisor, Security Operations will provide supervision, leadership, and guidance to a team of Security Operators. This role is accountable for the review, oversight, and delegation of information reported to the Security Operations Centre (SOC). This role provides strong customer service and acts as a liaison between the Security & Emergency Management business unit, the SOC Team, and all internal and external stakeholders relevant to the position.

This role provides support to our Security Operations Centre (93 Chain Lake Drive) which is open 24 hours. Hours of work will be scheduled base on operational needs, typically Mon - Fri during retail business hours.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, guidance, training, and general supervision to ensure work is carried out efficiently, with care and accuracy, and in accordance with established methods.
  • Provide leadership while focusing on coaching and mentoring to develop and maintain a competent, efficient, and engaged team that will deliver consistent and strong customer service.
  • Ensure maintenance of key performance indicators (KPI's) relating to Incident Reporting, Maintenance & Repair of physical security infrastructure, and Alarm Monitoring.
  • Establish processes and controls that will ensure the SOC's work output is completed to a high standard.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork within the Security & Emergency Management team and across other business units and retail as required.
  • Coordinate with security vendors & service partners to ensure effective operation of security systems and services.
  • Ensure team provides on-site security for the Head office and Distribution Centre, with a strong customer focus.
  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and questions in an effective manner.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute reports on security incidents, trends, and metrics.
  • Manage related special projects
  • Report and liaise with the criminal justice system.
  • Represent the NSLC as a witness in court.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's social responsibility mandate, Our Values, and Service Standards.
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

As a qualified candidate, you will have:

  • Post secondary education in security, criminal justice, or related field
  • At least 5 years' experience Loss Prevention, security, or related area
  • At least 1-2 years of experience leading people and/or teams, including scheduling multiple shifts
  • Experience in data analysis
  • The ability to complete a Criminal Record check upon hire, or provide one issued within the past 6 months

As the ideal candidate, you will also have:

  • Experience in a customer focused role (remote and/or in person)
  • Experience using related technology (Such as, MS Office, CCTV Video Management Systems, Record Management Systems, Call Centre Software Systems, etc)
  • Experience in a retail or similar environment with multiple locations

An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
