JOB PURPOSE

This is supervisory and/or clinical leadership working in the field of occupational therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A university degree in a related field.
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Must have three years experience as an occupational therapist in a health care setting.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision:

  • Monitoring daily staff coverage, assign and review work, participate in staff recruitment and orientation, assist in performance management, participate in the development and administration of policies and procedures and in quality improvement
  • Completing administrative duties, reports, statistical activities and expense claim management
  • Recommending and sourcing equipment, preparing proposals for new equipment
  • Ordering, managing and monitoring inventory
  • Travel as required
  • Performing the work of an occupational therapist

AND/OR

Clinical Leadership

  • Ensuring services provided are consistent with professional scope of practice and regional policies and procedures
  • Providing clinical support and advice to professionals and to management regarding clinical practices
  • Participating in formal clinical research
  • Making recommendations on development of services/programs, specific products and equipment, resources required for delivery of services, and methods and processes to improve services
  • Travel as required
  • Performing the work of an occupational therapist
