Job SummaryReporting to the Provincial Director, Total Rewards, the Human Resources Consultant provides the full continuum of job evaluation services including professional advisory consultation to all levels of the organization. Advice and guidance are provided relating to classification and salary determinations, education and support for job evaluation/classification issues and processes including appeals/hearings, Human Resource planning, grievances/arbitration, compensation plans and policies, rating committees, compensation surveys, organizational design and structure, and compensation research for all positions within the organization.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a specialization in Human Resource Management is required.
CPHR certification is an asset.
ExperienceMinimum of two years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment is required.
Experience in job evaluation methods and compensation plans in a unionized environment is an asset.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Knowledge of compensation policies, job evaluation methods and best practices, collective agreements, management and management support compensation policies.
Ability to manage change, continuous improvement and quality processes.
Demonstrated ability to identify classification issues impacting on services and utilize appropriate mechanisms to determine appropriate strategies.
Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage high volumes of work with multiple and competing priorities/deadlines.
Ability to work independently and to use discretion and good judgment in decision making.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team environment.
