This is a new position within ADL. As the Cost Accountant, you'll create the foundation for how costing informs production, efficiency, and growth across the cooperative.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with production and key operational leaders, the Cost Accountant will be ADL's go-to resource for understanding and managing costs. This is a visible, high-impact role where your expertise will guide smarter decisions and prepare us for a more digital, data-driven future.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain standard costs and product costing/pricing models.
• Analyze variances and monitor manufacturing costs to evaluate operational efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Prepare cost reports and assist in budgeting and forecasting to provide insights for decision making.
• Enhance processes for inventory valuation, standard costs, and cost reporting.
• Lead monthly and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

We're looking for you to bring the expertise and confidence to lead in a newly established role.

• Considerable proven experience in cost accounting.
• Strong skills in cost modeling, variance analysis, and inventory control.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor.
• Positive, proactive mindset and motivated to make a visible impact.

This position based out of our ADL's Corporate Headquarters in the heart of Summerside, PEI. The role is a Full-Time Permanent position and will require periodic travel to other ADL locations throughout PEI, as required.
