The Return to Work Specialist reports to the Manager,Case Management and Pensions, and promotes a team approach to return towork. The incumbent works withemployers, injured workers, service providers, the WSCC, and other Stakeholderby providing RTW advice and expertise including; reviewing and providing inputinto return to work plans, identifying modified/alternate duties and return towork program development, implementation and evaluation.

As the primary subject matter expert, the Return to WorkSpecialist works with employers to ensure they understand and meet theirobligations to ensure a safe, well managed, return to work. Additionally, this position is responsible formonitoring programs and continually striving toward improved claims managementperformance through the development and implementation of proactive casemanagement and prevention focused initiatives.

  • Leading and/or providing technicalexpertise in the development of WSCC initiatives to improve return to workoutcomes.
  • Providingreturn to work advisory services on specific claims.
  • EnsuringStakeholders understand and comply with claim reporting requirements.
  • Working withWSCC partners and stakeholders to ensure consultation, delivery and promotionof the WSCC Return to Work Program.
  • Collaboratingwith external vocational rehabilitation services providers to ensure servicedelivery.
  • Contributingto the quality assurance process in claims management.

Whatyou bring to the role:

  • Successfulcompletion of a related Bachelor Degree and 2 years related experience, and/ora two year Certificate in Disability Management with 4 years of relatedexperience. Certified Disability Management Professional designationpreferred.
  • Experiencein Occupational Health & Safety is considered an asset.
