About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
- Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
- Breastfeeding education/course;
- Critical Care education program or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Successful completion of CTAS, NRP, ACLS and TNCC;
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Organize, plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care for assigned clients in collaboration with the client, family and multi-disciplinary team;
- Participate in the auditing process as required;
- Document as per professional and organizational standards;
- Administer medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
- Participate in the orientation, mentorship and perceptoring of staff;
- Represent nursing on various committees as required;
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
- Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
- Act as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
- Other related duties as required;
