Saint John Energy is inviting applications for the role of Meter Operations Data & Compliance Administrator until 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Saint John Energy is entering a period of significant technology transformation, including the modernization of our metering systems and the implementation of new enterprise platforms. The Meter Operations Data & Compliance Administrator will play a key role in supporting current metering operations while leading the transition to these new platforms.
This position is responsible for ensuring metering data accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational scheduling, and system performance, as well as providing advanced analytics to support decision-making. The Administrator will also support outage investigations, theft detection, and escalated customer technical inquiries.
Beyond current operations, this role will be instrumental in identifying, adopting, and optimizing new tools and processes, ensuring that Saint John Energy remains ahead of industry standards and customer expectations.
Job Duties:
- Maintain and update Measurement Canada seal and compliance records for all meters.
- Audit metering data to ensure billing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and customer trust; investigate anomalies and implement corrective actions.
- Extract, validate, and analyze metering data to support operational decisions and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and deliver monthly power reports and other operational/regulatory reports with accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reports to track system health, compliance, and performance.
- Plan and coordinate schedules for meter technicians and related resources, ensuring alignment with priorities and deadlines.
- Track and manage operational work queues in various internal systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory and lifecycle records for all metering assets, including installation, maintenance, and retirement.
- Provide data analysis for outage investigations, theft detection, and power quality assessments.
- Monitor metering system communication performance, identify underperforming endpoints/network nodes, and escalate issues to IT or vendors.
- Act as Tier 2 technical support for escalated Customer Service inquiries involving metering events or data discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve workflow challenges, system issues, or data discrepancies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation, Standard Operating Practices (SOPs), and training materials for Meter Operations.
Working Conditions:
- 40 hours per week
- Primarily office-based work with extensive use of computers, data systems, and software applications.
- Occasional outdoor tasks or site visits may be required to support investigations, audits, or project work.
- May require visits to construction sites, substations, or customer premises when assisting with outage/event investigations or compliance checks.
- Extended periods of sitting, keyboard use, and screen time; occasional standing and movement required.
- Duties involve detailed, repetitive, and complex data analysis requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Capable of delivering presentations to internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Occasional interactions with challenging customers or situations requiring professionalism and diplomacy.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Data Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years in metering operations, compliance, or utility data management.
- Strong understanding of metering data platforms and compliance standards (MV-90, Measurement Canada), with demonstrated ability to learn and support evolving technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and data analysis tools.
