The Senior Manager, Business Support leads multiple teams to achieve business support objectives and ensure operational excellence. They provide guidance and expertise, address operational challenges, and continuously improve processes. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving a high-performing, service-oriented team. They monitor performance, develop talent, ensure compliance with policies, and foster a positive team environment. The Senior Manager oversees business support functions, ensures smooth and efficient operations through strategic planning and resource management.

In this role, you will :

  • Lead a small diverse team of professionals focused on delivering business support solutions to achieve long and short-term objectives within Recovery Services.
  • Develop and implement workplans to achieve business support objectives and drive organizational growth within Recovery Services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business management practices, processes and tools to support continuous improvement and operational efficacy across all Service Lines within Recovery Services.
  • Oversee teams' performance and governance, budget, quality, risk, and adherence to policies and standards, including sub-teams such as the Review Unit., with escalation to Recovery Services senior leadership as required.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration and information sharing, including but not limited to the CRC's Annual Operational Planning, Recovery Services Systems, Data and Reporting Team as well the Public Safety Canada Humanitarian Workforce project.
  • Working closely with the Systems, Data and Reporting team, Identify, plan, design and adjust service standards, methods and processes to continuously improve and respond to current and future needs across all Service Lines within Recovery Services.
  • Lead and manage initiatives and projects to deliver on time and within budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the business support functions.

What we are looking for :

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 6-9 years' experience and a university degree in business administration, management, or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and inspire, motivate and engage teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams, mentoring professionals, and overseeing complex projects.
  • Ability to conduct deep analysis in unfamiliar areas, predict outcomes, and develop innovative, collaborative solutions by balancing technical inputs with strategic objectives.
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement and experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community groups, to build working relationships.
  • Strong background in report writing for internal and external audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint and Teams is required.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial oversight is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • All teams contribute to emergency response and recovery efforts directly or indirectly.
  • All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
  • Will be working primarily in an office environment.
  • This position requires ability to travel for meetings and training, as well as to occasionally deploy to operations in Canada.
