Brewing Supervisor
Moosehead Breweries is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been led by the Oland family since 1867. After more than 150 years, our history is as rich as the flavour of our beer.
We are currently seeking a Brewing Supervisor for the Saint John Brewery. Reporting to the Manager of Brewing Operations, the supervisor is primarily responsible for all aspects of the brewing process within the brewing and fermenting departments.
- Scheduling of all tasks and processing within the Brewing and Fermenting Departments including, CIPs, Shift schedules, Yeast management, Brewhouse schedules, spent grain collection and maintenance
- Manage hourly workforce
- Develop and distribute brewing plans based on packaging demands and schedules
- Coordinate ordering, receiving, cycle counts and tracking of brewing materials
- Prepare and assign work to operators in Brewing and Fermenting depts
- Assume responsibilities of Cellars Supervisor during vacation coverage
- Item set up and creation in NAV
- Maintain accurate production records to comply with CRA and Food safety program requirements
- Review daily brewing and beer production data
- On call 24/7 or whenever Operators are on site
- Post secondary graduate, preferably in Science or Engineering
- Minimum 2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably a food manufacturing environment)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven record to lead teams and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills, multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Must be self-directed and have ability to adapt to a changing environment
