Nova Scotia Power is seeking a?Change Management Specialist?to join our ERP Program team as part of a broader Business Transformation initiative. Reporting to the Change Manager, this role will support the design and delivery of internal communication strategies that keep employees informed, engaged, and prepared for change.


You'll lead change activities on the ERP project, using structured methodologies and data-driven insights to maximize adoption, minimize resistance, and deliver lasting outcomes. Working closely with business leaders, project teams, and frontline employees, you'll help ensure that change is thoughtfully planned, well-executed, and successfully sustained.


Key elements of this role include:
  • Designing and implementing tailored change management strategies based on the nature, scope, and impact of the assigned ERP workstream
  • Analyzing the people-side impacts of change (e.g., to roles, processes, systems, mindsets) and assessing organizational readiness to adopt changes
  • Identifying, mapping, and engaging key stakeholders throughout the change lifecycle, monitoring stakeholder sentiment, building coalitions, and addressing resistance
  • Creating clear, timely, and targeted communications to raise awareness, build commitment, and ensure consistent messaging across all levels of the organization
  • Coaching and equipping sponsors and leaders to fulfill their roles in leading change effectively, using structured sponsor roadmaps and engagement plans
  • Partnering with training teams to develop learning needs assessments, training plans, and delivery methods to build the capabilities required for adoption
  • Building and managing change agent networks or local champions to support grassroots engagement and feedback loops across business units
  • Defining adoption metrics and KPIs, and tracking and reporting on progress, issues, and results using dashboards, surveys, and stakeholder feedback
  • Identifying sources of resistance and implementing mitigation strategies; developing reinforcement mechanisms (recognition, feedback, integration into performance management) to sustain change
  • Collaborating with project managers to embed change management into project plans and timelines, ensuring alignment on scope, milestones, and roles
  • Creating sustainment plans and long-term support models to ensure successful handover to business owners and ongoing change adoption

These skills will make you successful:
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Change Management, HR, Communications, Business, Education, or Psychology).
  • 2–5 years of related experience in change management, stakeholder engagement, training, or communications.
  • Demonstrated experience applying change management practices to organizational initiatives or projects.
  • Prosci, CCMP, or similar recognized change management certification is an asset.
  • Familiarity with business process design and analysis is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a project environment; PMP certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); SharePoint experience is required.
  • Experience with data reporting and metrics; Excel is essential, Power BI is an asset.
  • Proven skills in communication planning, training development, and facilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to build trust quickly and work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to distill complex topics clearly.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
