WHO WE ARE:
The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour wishes to establish an inventory of qualified candidates to fill current and future vacancies of Learning Strategist positions within the Skilled Trades NB branch throughout the Province of New Brunswick. Applicants must note on their applications the location(s) for which they wish to be considered (Fredericton, Woodstock, Moncton, Saint John, Edmundston, Bathurst, Miramichi, Acadian Peninsula).
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The successful candidate will be responsible to coordinate accommodations and services for apprentices and trade qualifiers with learning challenges and other educational support needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic counselling, coaching support, development of customized learning plans, teaching use of assistive technology supports, teaching study skills and essential skills, conducting informal assessments, referring to formal assessments, coordinating intervention and accommodation, data management and reporting.
The following operational requirements are also required:
Working in the evening and/or variable hours to meet with clients who are not available during the regular working day;
A valid driver's license, as this position may require travel within the province;
Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a criminal record check for work with the vulnerable sector.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in Adult Education with concentration in learning disabilities or a related university degree plus an Adult Learning Certificate. A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with assistive technologies. A strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite and working in a virtual environment is required.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of, and experience with, the Apprenticeship system in Canada and knowledge of the New Brunswick Apprenticeship learning support model. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:
$2,491 to $3,006 bi-weekly.
