Cavendish Agri Services is a well-established Canadian company serving growers in Atlantic Canada. They specialize in providing comprehensive growing services, from top quality fertilizer, crop protectants, and farm supplies, as well as crop scouting, soil analysis, precision farming, storage management and equipment rentals. Their expert team of agronomists, certified crop advisors, researchers, equipment operators and customer service staff have built strong, long-term relationships with growers, with the focus of sharing their in-depth knowledge and extensive experience with crops in the region.
On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting a Director/VP of Sales to join their team of dedicated professionals in New Annan, PEI.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director/VP of Sales will play a leadership role with responsibility to lead, develop and motivate sales agronomists and provide overall leadership to all locations and branches in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The Director/VP of Sales will also be responsible for executing organizational sales strategy and management of the sales operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and engage a team of high-performing sales professionals and branch managers.
- Create and execute strategic sales plans.
- Develop and manage the sales team focusing on customer relationships, operational excellence, and growth.
- Responsible for all key performance indicators to help drive sales volume, customer service and profitability.
- Manage financial budgets and sales forecasting.
- Oversee and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operate in a safe manner at all times, following company Safety & PPE protocols, while at the same time representing the company in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a driven professional possessing 8-10 years of progressive sales leadership experience. Demonstrated success working in and/or deep knowledge/understanding of the agriculture, agronomy, or related industries will be strongly preferred. Strong leadership capabilities are essential, with the ability to inspire, coach, and mentor teams across multiple locations. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strategic mindset with experience developing and executing sales plans aligned with organizational goals. Proven experience in managing budgets, financial forecasting, and monitoring key performance indicators is also critical. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical and customer-focused by nature. As a dedicated leader, you have a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing sales teams and consistently delivering strong sales growth. A bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or equivalent executive education will be considered an asset.
