Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Infrastructure Engineer. This is a regular opportunity in the Engineering and Technology Services Department and has full time hours.
What the Asset Management Team does:
- Supports Halifax Water's corporate Mission, Vision and Strategic Objectives
- Delivers asset management, and infrastructure master planning projects
- Leads investigations to confirm levels of service, fill data gaps, and determine asset condition
- Administers key data collection programs that inform work done by other departments
- Coordinates annual capital budget development
- Provides regular reporting on Halifax Water's assets (state of good repair and planning for our future services)
- Supports Halifax Water's response to customers' service expectations and growth demands
- Maintains and updates corporate hydraulic models used to support capital and master planning projects
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Provide technical expertise to long term master planning, hydraulic modelling, and corporate flow monitoring
- Maintain, analyze, and report on data critical to the delivery of Halifax Water's Infrastructure Planning Program
- Provide technical expertise and critical thinking, while compiling data from varied sources, performing analysis, and presenting results to various stakeholders
- Manage projects related to hydraulic modelling and long-term master planning
- Coordinate with other departments and agencies
To do this job, you need:
- A post-secondary education in Civil, Municipal, or Water Resources Engineering,
- A Professional Engineer designation,
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible related experience with an emphasis on hydraulic/hydrologic modelling,
- Direct supervisory experience or experience directing a team of technical and professional personnel,
- A keen learning approach to explore unfamiliar ideas that support the Team's mandate,
- Communication skills to work with multiple departments and consolidate input,
- Positivity, enthusiasm, perseverance, and patience
- A valid NS driver's license.

The annual salary range for those holding a P. Eng designation is $91,784 to $114,730 annually and this position may be eligible for the flexibility of working remotely for a defined portion of the work week based on operational requirements and customer service delivery per policy.
