The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Camera Systems Technician to join our team in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick. This role focuses on the inspection, operation, routine maintenance, and repair diagnostics of camera systems and their connectivity networks aboard feeding system barges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support for camera technologies, along with hands-on experience using tools and working directly with hardware in marine environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspection, testing, and diagnostics of camera systems used in aquaculture operations.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues between cameras and networked monitoring systems to ensure reliable data flow and system integrity.
  • Coordinate shipment of camera units to suppliers when off-site repair is required.
  • Maintain and update inventory records for camera systems and accessories.
  • On-site testing and inspection procedures for malfunctioning cameras.
  • Assist in identifying and executing repair or replacement procedures for camera-related components.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical aptitude with IT system networks, particularly those related to camera networks, remote monitoring, and wireless data transmission.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical tools; comfortable working on-site in a marine environment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues in camera systems and networked environments.
  • Reliable and self-directed, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting procedures and training others.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
