Qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate prepared graduate of a health care related discipline with registration through a provincial regulatory body.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a registered heath care provider is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years management experience and one (1) year leadership experience within the last five (5) years is also required.
  • Proven ability to supervise, support, and guide staff.
  • Proven ability to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and initiative in performing duties.
  • Successful completion of management education or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer).
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
  • Class five driver?s license.

Duties:? (Included but not limited to)

  • Recognizes cultural diversity and acts as a champion to ensure patients receive culturally safe patient centered care.
  • Promotes and facilitates the design and delivery of patient and family centered care.
  • Supports broader community needs, Community Health Needs Assessment, Community Advisory Committee presence.
  • Establishes clear lines of communication with employees and community stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinates site communications.
  • Chairs Health and Emergency Management ensuring Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Plan is implemented, monitored, and updated.
  • Supports operational standards; policies, procedures, regulations and legislation and quality assurance programs (QA)
  • Co-ordinates with local staff in maintaining a safe environment in all facilities, ensuring the application of fire life safety codes and occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Supports infrastructure, equipment, patient safety and overall facilities staffing.
  • Co-ordinates the allocation/redevelopment of space in consultation with applicable departments/programs.
  • Coordinates with appropriate staff regarding client flow.
  • Assists in developing policies and procedures and advocates that policies and procedures are reviewed and updated as per operational guidelines.
  • Assists in formulating the annual budget for service areas and is responsible for monitoring and maintaining budgets.
  • Prepares performance evaluations in accordance with the authority's performance evaluation program including attendance management issues.
  • Completes and submit reports (including month end and budget variance) and ensure quality assurance activities are completed.
  • Participates in meeting and committee work.
  • Plans, organizes, manages and evaluates programs and services at the health centre in collaboration with the staff and clients in accordance with LG Health?s strategic directions.
  • Other related duties as required.
