Job Summary
The Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Continuing Care & Palliative Care Program of NL Health Services ? Urban zone invites expressions of interest for a Full-time Physiatrist at the L.A. Miller Centre in St. John?s, Newfoundland and Labrador. All interested applicants are encouraged to apply.
The Physician will provide services to the Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Continuing Care & Palliative Care Program within NL Health Services Urban zone. Primary clinical workload will involve the medical care of inpatients and outpatients, including consultation, follow-up visits and ongoing care. The Physician will be expected to share equitably the inpatient and outpatient care for Physiatry services and to share in the on-call rota with the team.
Opportunity for participation in post-graduate medical teaching and responding to requests from other members of the hospital staff to provide education if clinical duties are met.
Required Qualifications
- To be considered, candidates must hold an MD and be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or have eligibility for certification.
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NL.
- Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services, including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly
0900 ? 1700 hours - may vary according to patient needs or needs of the service to best utilize the time of the incumbent.
Remuneration: Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
