Are you a finance professional with a passion for accuracy, analysis, and strategic impact? Atlantic Lottery is looking for a Senior Accountant - Sales to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be the subject matter expert for Sales & Gross Profit, Inventory, and Shareholder Reporting, playing a key role in ensuring financial integrity, optimizing processes, and supporting both internal and external reporting requirements.

Salary: A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 at the time of this posting. (Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, training and internal equity).

Work Environment:

  • Location: Moncton, NB preferred. Halifax, NS or St. John's, NL may be considered.
  • Onboarding: Full-time in-office for the first 6 months (Moncton preferred).
  • After Probation: Option to continue in-office or shift to a hybrid model (2-3 days/week in office).

What You'll Do:

  • Financial Accounting: Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses to ensure compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.
  • Gross Profit (SME): Ensure completeness and accuracy of Gross Profit results, mentor team members, and recommend process improvements for accurate revenue recognition.
  • Inventory (SME): Maintain accurate inventory records, perform monthly reconciliations, and provide insightful analysis.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze monthly results, identify risks to financial targets, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare internal and external financial reports, including Board and Shareholder reporting packages.
  • Financial Systems: Understanding the transaction flow in Oracle eBS and Hyperion, ensuring system optimization, troubleshooting, and alignment with accounting standards.
  • Cost Center Support: Partner with internal stakeholders to support expense planning and ensure accurate financial results.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Monitor changes in legislation and standards, ensuring documentation and processes remain current and compliant.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a finance role with a strong analytical focus.
  • Experience working under IFRS and with financial systems such as Oracle eBS, Hyperion, and Oracle BI is considered an asset.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply and reside in Atlantic Canada.
