Variable Hours; Variable Shifts; minimum of 75 hours bi-weekly for Travel Locum Premium benefit to apply;
Salary:
NS ? 28 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $39.39 - $49.06 per hour
NS ? 30 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $41.99 - $52.26 per hour
NS ? 31 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $43.48 - $53.74 per hour
Additional $25/hr. for hours working in the locum position. Locums must agree to work a minimum of fourteen (14) days (75 hours a bi-weekly) for this benefit to apply. Other benefits in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.

About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador-Grenfell Zone. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the Labrador-Grenfell Health Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
- Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
- Emergency Education Program, Surgical Services Education Program and/or Obstetric Education Program or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Successful completion of NRP, ACLS, PALS and TNCC or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Successful completion of the Medevac course or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Successful completion of CTAS or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Breastfeeding education/course;
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check;
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients;
- Participates in the auditing process as required;
- Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
- Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
- Participates in the orientation, mentorship and preceptoring of staff;
- Represents nursing on various committees as required;
- Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
- Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
- Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
- May be required to complete medevac?s occasionally;
- On call/stand-by may be required;
- Other related duties as required;
