Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Armco Capital Inc. to recruit a Human Resources Generalist to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Role Description:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will support all aspects of human resources, including recruitment and onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, payroll, and benefits. Further, the Human Resources Generalist will provide support and guidance to managers and supervisors across the organization, advising on best practices and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, as well as employment legislation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for a wide range of positions across the organization, preparing job descriptions, sourcing/screening candidates, and providing support through to the offer stage;
  • Assist with the employee onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and their managers;
  • Advance employee engagement, wellness, and recognition initiatives to promote and foster an engaged and productive workforce;
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all employee queries, concerns, and complaints;
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to provide guidance on policies and procedures, performance development, training, and any disciplinary matters;
  • Provide guidance and direction to managers and supervisors on performance management and review processes;
  • Assist with benefit and payroll administration, serving as the primary point of contact for any discrepancies brought forward by employees;
  • Ensure personnel files are up-to-date and accurate at all times;
  • Remain current on employment laws and legislation, ensuring company compliance in all facets of HR.

Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a confident human resources professional who is experienced and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. You are able to effectively manage a high workload consisting of multiple competing priorities and enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team.


Your qualifications will include:

  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration/Commerce, or similar;
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience in a Generalist capacity, with demonstrated experience in a broad range of HR functions;
  • CPHR designation would be considered an asset;
  • Experience working in the real estate development/property management industry would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of and experience using Payworks and ADP system(s) would be considered an asset;
  • Proven track record of effectively handling multiple projects simultaneously as well as the ability to work at a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, complex environment;
  • High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, coupled with strong attention to detail and business acumen;
  • Flexibility and adaptability with an emphasis on seeing the benefit of change and the bigger picture;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office software.
